Ted Nugent - definition: awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TED NUGENT, this man is straight up awesome, He's so awesome that mean the word awesome isn't a strong enough word to be used for him. Ted Nugent first gained fame while in his first band, The Amboy Dukes. Soon after leaving that band, he went on to start his solo project. With the release of his first self-titled solo album gained him great success establishing him as a hard rock artiste. Along with many successful albums, Ted is also quite the activist. He has appeared in a couple of shows including The Simpsons, he stared in a VH1 reality T.V. show called Supergroup, another VH1 show called Surviving Nugent, and many others. Supergroup is probably the most knowed show out of this list ,next to The Simpsons, featuring artist like Sebastian Bach of Skid Row, and Scott Ian of Anthrax. Ted Nugent is also an accomplished author, writing four published books and two articles for magazines and websites. So not only is Ted Nugent a awesome guitarist, he can literally rip your heart out of your chest without even blinking. I have a Ted Nugent song up and it's a good one.

As I Lay Dying: The Powerless Rise

As I Lay Dying, no not the book, is a band from San Diego, California, formed back in 2000. Releasing four albums, The Powerless Rise is the newest installment of the band. Consisting of 11 tracks of pure and true As I Lay Dying sound. The First track Entitled Beyond Our Suffering is probably going to be my favorite song as soon as I give a full and complete listen to the album.
To give a little bit of incite of the band, these guys can play music for real. As oppose to the lead singer's side project parody band, Austrian Death Machine. Inspired by actor and California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and based about some of the actor's movies and quotes. Two songs are uploaded: A As I Lay Dying song: Beyond Our Suffering, and an Austrian Death Machine song: I'm A Cybernetic Organism, Living Tissue Over (Metal) Endoskeleton. Enjoy.

TOM PETTY! is awesome.

Tom Petty is probably one of the single greatest rock musicians out there on the scene right now. Who doesn't like Tom Petty? The man has been around since 1970 with his first band "Mudcrutch," they quickly disbanded and Tom Petty began his on his solo project with help from his friends Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers started. Their first album titled "Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers" made great success on the charts and their single "Breakdown" was voted #40th.
Tom Petty made himself a highly acclaimed musician with great songs like "American Girl," "I Need To Know," "Free Fallin'," "I Wont Back Down," and "Refugee." Tom Petty has yet to stop. Tom Petty is currently on tour right now and doesn't seem like he's going to give up on music just yet. One of my favorite songs "I Need To Know" is here right now for you to listen to.

Seymour Duncan Black-outs! Powerful pick-ups.

Well, so far I've only been posting about bands, guitar players, or albums. But for once I'm going talk about something different. Guitar pick-ups. As a good pen is essential for a good writer, good pick-ups are also important for any guitar player. Well to start my rant on these pick-ups, they're active pick-ups witch means that they have a battery installed with the guitar so produce a powerful guitar sound. I have installed these pick-ups to one of my guitars already and I haven't regretted my decision ever since. But what to expect their Seymour Duncan, they never seem to fail any guitarist.
With such a sleek design and cool features these pick-ups are no joke. They deliver all of the tone that any guitarist can probably look for. And these pick-ups are even available for 7 string guitars. With impressive design and intense sound these pick-ups are a definite recommend for any guitarist.

Nevermore makes a comeback!

For this blog I decided to write about Nevermore's upcoming album "The Obsidian Conspiracy." Nevermore is not one of my top favorite bands but I'm going to give credit were credit is due. This band has been around since 1991 but didn't get signed to a major label till 1995. The band has released 6 albums with the upcoming album due to be released some in June 2010. To give a little bit of background info on the band, four amazingly talented musicians make up the progressive metal band from Seattle, Washington. Jeff Loomis on lead guitar, Warrel Dane on lead vocals, Jim Sheppard on bass guitar, and Van Willams on drums.
Nevermore's new album looks like in might put mainstream heavy metal artist Ozzy Osbourne's new album out of it's place with the title track "The Obsidian Conspiracy." Here's the song for preview, and I got to say its a killer. Too bad it's an instrumental, but I'm going to put up one of my favorite songs by the band so my followers can hear Warrel Dane's powerful vocals.

KRANK amps. 120 watts of pure tube tone!

What can I say about these amplifiers? I got four words: Strength Beyond Strength! These massive amps pack a punch of extreme tone that the inventors even surprised themselves. I am proud to be a owner of one of these powerful amps. What could I tell you about them. The amps has two channels one clean tone channel, and one distortion channel with a two volume knobs. The distortion channel has a 3-band equalization with a sweep channel, and a master presence channel for added fun.

Michael Romeo: My New Guitar Hero

Micheal Romeo is an American guitarist for the metal band Symphony X. People tend to tie them to the progressive metal genre for their often melodic sound and use of symphonic styles of music. Micheal Romeo started with music when he was ten years old with piano lessons and also played the clarinet. But it wasn't until hearing a Kiss album that he quickly picked up guitar.
In 1994, Symphony X released their self-titled debut album which many fans don't really call it Symphony X since it doesn't have vocalist Russell Allen who fans consider to make up the Symphony X sound, a long side with Romeo. Romeo used an Esp M-II guitar for majority of Symphony X years until recently switching to Caparison guitars having his own custom Michael Romeo guitar. His preferred amplifier in studios is Engl fireball and SE E670 series, but he is seen using other like Marshall and Madison and even Triple Rectifier Mesa Boogies.
Michael's solo album "The Dark Chapter" consists of nine songs that Romeo produced him. It essentially revolves around themes created through stories and poems by writer Edgar Allen Poe. Songs like the "Masque of Red Death" and "The Cask of Amontillado." Even the album art uses themes like the raven from Poe's poem and a pendulum guitar from Poe's short story "The Pit and the Pendulum." This guy has serious talent.
